This quilt was originally designed for an exhibit called 'Routes/Roots'. Each artist was invited to interpret the theme as inspired.
The inspiration for this piece comes from the idea of a hidden struggle in life. In this scenario the battle is between a dog and a rabbit. Both struggles to possess a carrot neither being able to see the source of resistance in their battle to acquire the root. The worm is able to observe with amusement from his unique perspective.
Techniques: Soft edge applique, free motion quilting
Materials: Commercial fabric, batiks, wool felt
