This piece commemorates our dog's favorite vacation. We were on our way to a show and our van broke down in Blythe. He loved all the walks every day and all the new interesting smells.
This Volkswagen is based on an actual car that we photographed that was piled high with the drivers luggage and personal mementos. It was an amazing sight.
Technique: Soft edge applique on wool felt base. Free motion quilting.
Materials: Wool felt, hand dyed, batik and commercial cotton.
