"Dog Reining Cats"
At a young age, I dreamed of becoming a cartoonist. As I grew older, this dream faded as life, career, and responsibilities replaced that dream. It was not until I reached my 50’s that a spark of that childhood dream reemerged.
That dream of becoming a cartoonist has taken on a different form but is just as satisfying. I use fabric instead of paint and thread instead of ink. My sewing machine, my power tool, brings it all together.
This piece is the third in my series playing with the idiom ‘Raining cats and dogs’ except I have again flipped the phrase and meaning. This sled dog is holding the reins and is determined to get those cats focused on their job.
