I defined my basic layout with sketching and refining the elements to fit the narrative I had in mind. Working with digital scrapbook elements helped to get an idea of final placement and composition. Each object of the quilt was worked individually as color and final shape was determined. Pieces were deleted and others added to keep the eye moving over the surface.
Stewart Gill paints were used for the continent stencils that I made out of freezer paper. Wendy Richardson labels were added for movement. A yogurt foil was used for the pen tip The ribbon is hand dyed silk. Final enhancements were added with Derwent Intense pencils for shadowing.
