This was also the first time David had ever attended a real guild meeting so he was interested in how they functioned. Not only were we warmly welcomed at the door, it is a fabulous meeting space.
David and I were fortunate enough to attend while Susan Prioleau was the speaker. I have admired her skill in applique for decades. She is amazing in her paper piecing AND hand quilting as well as her applique. She does incredible work with teeny tiny pieces. I took many pictures of her work. Not only is Susan's technique impeccable, but her color and fabric choices are superb. David and I enjoyed her trunk show and seeing her work up close and personal. I have included a few of her blocks that she is designing for the 50 states along with her friend Pearl. Pearl and Susan have these patterns for sale. If you have an interest in applique, you might want to check out one or more of these great designs.
David and I are looking forward to presenting our work to this very friendly group. We met lots of the members when we were there and had a great time. I am hopeful that our trunk show and speaking engagement goes as well as Susan's.
