Check out our Calendar to find out if they will be in your neck of the woods. We are so glad you found our art quilt website, I know it was probably a long hike to our little corner of the internet located in the southern California town of Temecula.

Here are a few fun facts about us and our quilted fiber art. We are somewhat unusual in that we are a husband and wife who create fiber art  and art quilts. We work together in the same studio but not on the same art pieces. We have a few art quilt collaborative projects that we frame out in shadow boxes. They sell quickly so it is difficult to keep up on the production as each is a unique piece of art. The galleries find it easy to promote the "soft" fiber art when it is a framed work. Clients new to fiber art find it easier to identify as art when it is framed.

David and I work side by side in a dedicated studio area and share a design wall. Our "guest" room was recently converted to an additional supply room where we keep our infrequently accessed supplies. That means anything that doesn't have to do with fabric, thread, (or sharp pointy things that can stab fingers or remove them if one is not careful) lives in this room.

Patricia's inspiration comes mostly from around Temecula; i.e., nature, the shapes and the colors. She loves textures and tries to incorporate as much as possible in her pieces. After seeing some of her pieces grouped together, she discovered she has a definite color bias. Currently most of Trish's  work is done on a Pfaff 1475 CD sewing machine. A fabulous Singer Featherweight is, also, in her studio.

David's inspiration comes from his love of the Bible and interpreting his themes in both symbolic and realistic designs. David's current work is in a cartoon style. He has always loved drawing cartoons from an early age and is able to translate that style into his work. David has not met a material he will not try to affix to fabric. He has used papyrus, bottle tree pods, stones, along with the more common, beads, yarns, etc.

David does amazing thread work with his Janome "power tool" and he has pushed me to be more creative and bold with my stitch work. There is not a spool of thread that is safe in the house with David around. David will use anything if it will give him the look he is after. I am sure if he could figure out how to put fishing line on the spool spindle, he would use that also.
