"Exploited"
David Charity

2012
$1700.00

Second in a series on the exploitation of children in the world.

This quilt is designed to show the agony and hopeless of forced labor. The heavy burden could be any of the  products most commonly harvested with the exploited.

At last estimate there are 122 products made in 50 different countries involving child labor. The reasons are many, ranging from cheap labor, poverty, cultural traditions, family indebtedness and illiteracy.

I start my work in Photoshop where I draw and then edit the images to suit my vision. After the main pattern is designed I will edit the image on the design wall as I assemble the work.
