David and I have been working a lot on the house and not so much on our art. We are going through the process of weeding out, sorting out, and throwing out. In general, we are picking out the things that bring us joy and letting go of those things that can bring joy to others. As a result, we are getting reacquainted with items that we have 'forgotten' or have just been 'out of sight, out of mind'. I was almost distracted this morning with all the buttons I have sorted in jars. Some are buttons purchased in bulk, but some are pure treasures.
The buttons below are ones that came by way of my grandmother. She would remove buttons from clothing that was going into the rag bag or quilt scrap bag and save them. I love the unique character of the shell buttons and the warm rust color of the round ones. I am hoping to find a suitable project to use some of these vintage buttons.
Do you have a collection of family memorabilia that is calling out to you to use?
